If You Are Sneezing, You Might Want A Cat Allergy TreatmentWhen you get a cat, and then start sneezing all the time, you probably have allergies to cat dander. When people say, "I'm allergic to cats," they oftentimes mean, "I'm allergic to cat dandruff." One cat allergy treatment is to wash your cat with dandruff shampoo. The one that comes to mind, of course, is Head and Shoulders. Dandruff is caused by a fungus which starts living in the pores of your skin. Generally dandruff begins just after you've been given antibiotics. The antibiotics kill off beneficial bacteria which used to live in your pores, and the fungus which causes dandruff takes over. Dandruff is killed with antifungal medications; but nothing that I've seen gets rid of the dandruff forever. It's just backed-off for awhile. So, if you're allergic to cat dander, one cat allergy treatment is to shampoo your cat. If you go to any pet store such as PetCo, they'll have products for getting rid of dandruff; but none will be as good as just using Head and Shoulders. Make sure you don't get it in their eyes. Cat allergy symptoms generally are related to itchy eyes, sneezing, coughing or post-nasal drip. The dandruff floats in the air, so using an air filter will help. The closer you get to the cat, the more the problem will show up. Asthma can always be a major problem, because it kicks in an attempt to close down the air-flow into your lungs. This is a not very intelligent action on your body's part because you need to breathe. Allergy control products which can help would be such things as micro-filter vacuum cleaners. These can remove dust from the carpet, which is one of the main culprits in such allergic problems. Just as with cats, you also can experience dog allergy symptoms. They manifest in the same way, and can be treated in the same way. So, if there's a cat allergy treatment that works, it probably will also work on your dog. Milk allergy symptoms always follow the ingestion of milk or dairy products. In this case what is called an 'allergy' is generally lactose intolerance. There's an enzyme which is necessary to break down cow's milk called Lactose. It breaks the lactase down into glucose or glycogen. If you're lacking those enzymes, you'll have reactions because the milk can't be broken down. With any allergy, asthma might be a result, particularly if the allergen can float through the air and be breathed in. An allergy asthma treatment, besides corticosteroid inhalants, or other inhalants, consists of removing the allergen, removing the place where that allergen resides (such as ripping up the rug, or getting rid of cabinets which have dry rot) or taking the allergen out of the air with air conditioning systems such as air filters or ionizers. A cat allergy treatment that's most effective, however, is to get rid of the cat and all the rugs. Clean the house well, many times. Each time you clean the house, more of the residual cat dandruff will disappear. |
